The Pen Is Mightier
The Pen Is Mightier By Rick Rucker Not all weapons are the same, The pen has secured me Victory in Love’s Life and Death Game! From the moment I saw Her, I knew, That I never wanted to tell her Adieu! But she had been burned by Loves past, And didn’t want to move very fast! I thought that if I went slowly, that I might lose, So, a daring plan, I decided to choose! I thought that my attack should involve all of her senses, In that way, I might skirt her defenses. Taking my cue from the polish on her toes, Every time I met her, I was holding a Red Rose! As well as its color, the Rose’s smell, Each time that she sniffed it, her pupils would swell! My voice, I was careful to keep mellow, So she would see I was a peaceful fellow! Finally, when our lips did touch, I wanted to stay there forever, but stopped before it was too much! Still, I could feel her reserve, So I then summoned all of my Nerve! I told her about my poems, that I did write, She read some, and called me that very night! She told me that if what I wrote was True, She would Love me, nothing else she could do! So if you want Love’s Ultimate Reward, As your weapon of choice, choose a pen, not a sword!
