The Song of a Bird
With a heart full of emotion, With a passion that cannot be described, It sings with joy that rushes and clings To the heart’s walls, as I softly watch it fly. The song of freedom pours from breast that Heaves deep sighs, and my soul rends into Small shreds. Freedom! It gasps, it cries with tears, and Shakes from fear; yet, with the cruel cage, it still breaks ties! Oh! Bird! Your song, my soul remembers. Its softest notes, waves roll To the hearth of heart that is inspired by one voice’s trying to break Through the bonds of cruelty’s jail. Oh! Bird-the offspring of nature’s Sweet care! A gift you have given to heart in despair. Oh! Bird, you Belong to the paradise lair, where song as no nightingale’s Shall render all hearts into joy so sincere!
