He Who Hesitates Is Lost
A lass saw her dream man seated, waiting there With highlights of sun in his auburn hair. She coyly sat down at a table near-by Then took a deep breath; let out a long sigh. Her heart beat fast as she stole a glance While day dreaming of their future romance. She had waited for this prince all of her life. . . Now checking her lipstick in the blade of her knife, She would make him her own, as the waiter drew near, “Dinner for one” she loudly proclaimed without fear. His eyes turned toward her; her face all aglow. . . She would patiently wait to see what would follow. A pretty brunette then entered in off the street And zeroed in on the prince she was eager to meet. Was it okay to join him? There was no room in the place. He pulled out a chair for her with a smile on his face. They sat there close together enjoying the day As the lass paid for her meal and her dreams slipped away. The lesson she learned: accept what it cost. . . She who hesitates, not just He who hesitates is lost! For The Catch Phrase Contest/ sponsored by Deborah Guzzi (My catch phrase: He who hesitates is lost) I may have not entered this correctly? I will wait to hear from you Deb.
