Redemption
Are there any prophets left? In this day and age Do we have a sage? What happened to the rest? -- Hunted as bait and slain -- Now no one wants to step up to the plate A prophet of a modern day Here in year 2008 Persecute or crucify People of this world I’m not afraid to die -- Die for a cause – Better than with no purpose at all! Now let us pause on that “cause”….. ..The prophets of today are afraid Afraid to be slain Like all the others since the beginning Will they speak up? I’m afraid not You see, secretly, they tell me Shut up fool or you will be Number one-hundred And thirty-three Then so be it! I will not quit! Whether I pick up a gun Or pick up this pen It will be you recognizing your life’s end I am with the Rising Son Penance you will begin Or suffer a death ever so grim A lesson learned through experience -- Blinded before I could see – Why me, oh God, why me?! Why must I suffer? What’s it going to be? This is no protest For your decision I humbly accept But allow me if I may, I do confess, I’ve suffered more than most of the rest. My reward lies in “heaven” How I live determines how I get it: I prefer heaven on earth With the love of a woman
