So Close
You don't remember the party, what you drank, or who you were with, But when you woke up, was a day, you'll never forget, You still remember the way, living in a tent. by the river can feel, Although it's so far behind you, the feeling of hopelessness is still so very real, You're friends weren't around, when you needed them most, And your family was through, and you, were completely alone, You remember the drive, leaving the only place You had ever called home, But You weren't welcome there anymore, and You had no where else to go, You wanted to scream, but were too overcome with fear, You wanted to cry, but the anger inside, blocked all your tears, Gas light turned on, you were broke, and didn't have a phone, You wanted to take your own life, but I told you no, You tried to argue, but I wouldn't let you win, You must find your rock bottom, to know where life begins, That day you had nothing, tangled emotions, and 1 gallon of gas, That's 2 years ago now, and look where you're at, That feeling of hopelessness, was the worst feeling, you'll ever know, No matter how far you go, that tent by the river, will always be close
