Todays World
People from the suburbs, Bangers in the hood; Searching for redemption, wishing that they could. Cheating on their taxes, stealing from the store; Looking to acquire, always wanting more. Danger on the corner, anger in the air; Hidden in the shadows, destruction sits and stares. Like manipulated robots, not knowing what we do; We often buy and sell our souls to pay the demon back his dues. Corruption known as power, feeds it's self on greed; While hoping all the while, it's not us on which it feeds. Colors on a cloth, of red and white and blue; Laundered in the color green, now ugliness shows through. Where once we were as children, we now seem seniors in a home; If there comes a time to fight we just might stand alone. Nothing seems to matter, perhaps we all should pray; For we could all be liable, when comes a judgment day.
