Invercargill My Little Town
There is a little town deep down south from which I came. There you will find beauty from the beach, beyond are waves that crash into the sand and hills that line the shore. Each hill is yours to conquer. Move quickly! Before the sand burn your feet. The smell of salt fill’s the air. You thank God you are here. From the bountiful beach, to the rivers that flow with raging currents, through trees that bend to skimp the water tops. There are trees that stand proudly, almost touching the clouds. There are pebbles and stones of all shapes and sizes. Flowers dance in the wind, vainly displaying their colors. There are Fish, birds, and creepy Crawlies. Blossom trees and warm summer breeze, Mother Nature in all her glory. The mountain tops are covered in a blanket of snow. The depths of the glaciers are as mysterious as the underwater caves. Bitter winds grasp at your face leaving you breathless. Ice puddles crack underfoot. Thunder and lighting in the dead of the night, clashing and banging, it would wake you in fright. Down in the town where people are asleep, there are man made paths that weave their way through the street. Park’s, lanes and little pebble bridges, almost replicas of peaceful Scottish shire. Sadly, things do change. But along with Mother Nature, my little town remains the same. Immaculate beauty from the mountains and beyond the Sea… That is why Invercargill is always number one to me. copyright © 22.03.2008 ngaire All copyright reserve
