The summer solstice
in years past so much welcomed...
now there's foreboding:
soaring temps, wildfires, drought...
idyllic days are numbered.

unfortunately that reality exists in parts of the US and other countries. I always welcome summer, but when July's heat arrives in Texas I ask myself, "What were you thinking?" Our idyllic summer days are gone...and we wait...enjoyed your Tanka. Have a splendid evening, Sara
