another day

mountains tumble
across the sky
twisting the last splinters
of golden warmth
through the grey soup
hanging heavy
listless lifeless
as an endless sigh
dogs roll over
mown grass
clinking ice tinkles
sprinkling laughter teases
fluttering chimes cleanse
the cool evening breeze
sweet pungent earth
drowns cheerful lungs
as ocean above cracks
spilling sheets
steaming stainless barbeque
sizzling flaming fire pit stones
dousing tiki torches
lettuce, tomatoes, chips
and condiments
march back inside
from under the eaves
gulping gulps of rare air
until it freezes
behind the glass
white pellets pelt
the big red umbrella
protecting the feast
grilled pineapple rings
burgers melting cheese
and buns toasting
in formation line
the smoking grate
storm sweeps through
collective gasp
tables towel dry
wet dogs play on
music mixes with
dinner mirth
dancing fire licks
black velvety darkness
Friday swells into
sleep-in Saturday
while I'm weaver weaves
another day
into the hidden loom

enjoyed your alliterative words and the weaving of daily activities reaching a crescendo on Friday/Saturday. Loved the flow of your words as well. Wishing you a pleasant evening, Sara
