Seasons Of Our Minds
A voice from my heart whispers tearfully of life's regrets,
It tells me of my sorrows and the promises I never kept,
You live in all my dreams, and days I wish I could forget,
I never knew our pasts could be such an unforgiving threat.
Our love was built on rainbows that disappeared before our eyes,
And castles written in fairytales camouflaged by loving smiles,
I wish I could erase all the shared memories of life's loving highs,
I wish our hearts were still in love and never had to say goodbye.
How did our tender hearts slip through our finger tips,
Were we so blinded by beauty not to read each others lips?
For every time I feel you near my trembling heart a beat it skips,
If only time would allow us to rewrite our fated scripts,
To dance with all the seasons, as the seasons they are gifts.
I will love you every morning my eyes should hope to wake,
I will love you every evening unless the Lord decides to take,
I will love you forever in my dreams until my last breath does forsake.
It's time my love to say goodbye it's time to go to sleep,
My tears behind closed eyes are not tears for me I weep,
I will wait for you in Paradise where my heart for you I keep,
To rewrite our own fairytale of rainbows and castles in the sky,
And dance with all the seasons, the seasons of our minds.
