Whispering Grasses Sway

Listen to poem:
SUCH A SUNNY DAY
To a wishful breeze, whispering grasses sway
These pastures of different green colour hues
Such was it, this beautiful glorious sunny day
Farmers in their fields, reaping in the dry hay
Skies lightened by the sun in blooms of blues
To a wishful breeze, whispering grasses sway
Birds; within the hedgerow’s, come to survey
Ears as bent, as to the swaying grasses news
Such was it, this beautiful glorious sunny day
Under the cool of a tree, woolly sheep, do lay
A puppy dog; plays, a field mouse, it pursues
To a wishful breeze, whispering grasses sway
Picturesque; I couldn't have it any other way
As into my memory, I memorize all the views
Such was it, this beautiful glorious sunny day
Reflective thoughts; become me this fine day
As to any other day only here I would choose
To a wishful breeze; whispering grasses sway
Such was it, this beautiful glorious sunny day

Not an easy form Indiana but you've composed it well, happy memories of a summers day. You were lucky to have spent your early years on a farm, gard work but rewarding. Tom
